Donald Phillips

Donald ‘Don’ Henry Phillips, beloved husband of the late Pat Phillips, passed away in Medicine Hat with family at his bedside following a brief illness on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the age of 82 years. Don leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Brad (Leila), Jeff (Boerny) and Don Jr. (Lisa); three grandchildren, Kelsey (Joel) Wagner, Alexander Phillips and Anthony Phillips; his very special great-granddaughter, Madeline Wagner as well as numerous other extended family including daughter-in-law, Laverne Phillips. He was predeceased by his honourary grandchild, Mitchell Burton. Don was born and raised in the Trail, B.C. area. He proudly served in the R.C.A.F. from 1960 – 1994, retiring in Medicine Hat. During retirement, Don was very involved and donated much of his time to the Royal Canadian Legion, Robertson Memorial Branch #17 as well as the Lions Club of Medicine Hat. Don’s strong sense of duty for his family and for his country will be forever remembered by all who knew him. A Celebration of Don’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on November 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. Don’s celebration will be live streamed. Those who cannot attend but wish to experience his celebration may visit the Cook Southland website and select the View Broadcast button on the homepage at service time. Family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of 4 West at the Hospital for the wonderful care Don received while there.
