1942 ~ 2023
Mrs. Linda L. McDonald, beloved wife of the late Mr. Drew R. McDonald, passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the age of 81 years. Linda’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her children, Rhonda Rasmussen (Al Gagnon) of Yellowknife and Robert McDonald (Debbie Olson) of Edmonton; grandchildren, Kimberly, Dawnelle, Matthew, Benjamin and Alexa; sister, Marion (Wally) Campbell as well as numerous extended family. She was predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Inez Stewart as well as one brother, Douglas Stewart. Linda enjoyed working as a book keeper with her husband Drew while they owned the Bulk Esso Agency business in Provost, AB. After selling the business, she went on to work a number of years with the Municipal Administration office for the MD of Provost before finishing her career with the Province of Alberta as a Municipal Advisor. They retired to Medicine Hat where Linda stayed very active in the Presbyterian Church as well as the Eastern Star. Throughout her life, family was Linda’s first priority. She made sure they knew that good, bad or otherwise, she always had their back! Linda made every effort to strengthen the bonds within her family… “she was the glue that held everyone together”. Her memory will live on within the hearts of all those whose lives she has touched. Linda’s life will be honoured and her memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal funeral. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Linda may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta and NWT, 306, 10430 – 61 Avenue N.W., Edmonton, AB., T6H 2J3.
