ALBERTA – The upcoming Youth Olympic games will be taking place in 2024 in South Korea. In the sport of curling, Alberta makes up three out of six spots on team Canada. Applicants for curling were chosen based on skill, performance, and previous team dynamics.

Chloe Fediuk and Allie Iskiw from Alberta will join Owain Fisher and Nathan Gray of Nova Scotia to form a mixed team. Fediuk and Iskiw were also part of a team that secured a spot in the 2024 Worlds earlier this year. The two girls were ecstatic when they found out they qualified.

“Yeah so I was actually golfing with my family. We were going up to the first tee-box and my mom opened her email, and she started crying, and then I started crying. It was like a whole group hug, it was a really special moment that I got to share with my family,” Iskiw explains.

Fediuk adds, “I was screaming, and I yelled for my parents, and they thought something was on fire actually. They were like ‘Chloe why are you screaming?’ and I was like ‘I made it!’”

The games will start in January of 2024. More information on the Youth Olympics can be found here.
