It is with broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Kathy May Pearce in her home in Medicine Hat on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the age of 60 years. Kathy is survived by her two children, Brian (Dalyn Joy) Pearce of Medicine Hat, and Christine Pearce of Medicine Hat; her first husband, Paul Pearce of Swift Current, SK and her companion, Vance Perry. She was also survived by her siblings Steve Spragg, Larry Spragg, and Laura Seigo as well as several half-brothers and sisters. She greatly loved her grandchildren Layne Pearce, Dylan Unser, and Ella Unser. Kathy was predeceased by her father, Joseph Spragg and mother, Lorretta Spragg.
Born and raised in Cranbrook B.C., Kathy was an avid hunter and fisher who enjoyed the great outdoors. At the age of 18, with her mother, she ventured to Medicine Hat. It was here that she met her first husband, Paul and began a family soon after. As a nurse, she was able to touch the lives of many. Her nurturing nature brought health and happiness to those around her as a volunteer for palliative care. Kathy met Vance through their united love of singing. Their relationship was thoroughly cherished until her passing. If you were hungry, Kathy’s house was the place to find a warm meal and a story to go along with it. For decades, her resilience and unwavering spirit battled against multiple illnesses. Through it all, she continued to live by her motto “Pass it on” which was a representation of her boundless generosity towards others. The way she loved and cared for all will never be forgotten.
Those closest to her will be holding a private celebration of her life.
