Alberta man charged for allegedly importing $7 million worth of drugs into Canada
CALGARY – Law enforcement officials have apprehended a man that they say was attempting to import 68 kilograms of drugs into the country.
The Integrated Border Enforcement Team (IBET), RCMP, Calgary Police Service (CPS), and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) conducted an investigation into cross-border drug importation involving commercial transport vehicles.
On Oct. 13, officers seized 38 kg of cocaine and 30 kg of heroin.
CPS Acting Superintendent of the Criminal Operations and Intelligence Team Melanie Oncescu praised the collaborative effort by law enforcement agencies in making this drug seizure.
