It is with an extremely heavy heart that Michele announces the sudden passing of her dear husband, Melvyn Douglas Klein, or as he preferred, Doug, always Doug. He passed away in Bow Island on Monday, November 14, 2022, at the age of 75 years. Doug was born in Maple Creek, SK., on January 31, 1947. He met Michele Arndt in 1965, after he finished his first term at STI and they were married in Maple Creek on December 7, 1968. Doug, Michele and Heather moved to Bow Island in 1970 where they started Klein Electric. He loved his work and continued until he was tragically taken from us. Along with Michele, Doug is survived by his daughter, Heather (Micheal) Morgan (Evan, Cole and Clair); son, Aaron (Nancy) Klein (Hayley and Gabrielle); daughter, Brandi (Chris) Patterson; siblings, David, Linda, Richard, Brian, Maureen, Susan, Darcy and Vic as well as his uncle Wilf (Babe) Mann. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so starting one hour prior to the Celebration of Doug’s Life which will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that anyone attending the celebration, to please dress casual (jeans and tee shirts). Doug’s service will be live-streamed. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Doug’s name may be made directly to the SPCA, 55 Southwest Drive S.W., Medicine Hat, AB., T1A 8E8.
