Fundraiser Friday for man stricken with liver and colon cancer

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A steak dinner and auction night is taking place on Friday to help a man recently diagnosed with two forms of cancer and his family.

Gyp-Tec Drywall is hosting the event for a long-time employee named Joe.

“Joe has recently been diagnosed with liver and colon cancer,” reads the company’s website. “He will be undergoing radiation, chemotherapy and likely surgery over the coming months. All money raised by this event will go directly to Joe and his family to help alleviate some of the financial burden they will be under due to his cancer.”

Tickets for the event, at the Silver Buckle Sports Bar beginning at 5 p.m., are available by contacting Brenda at 403-928-6489 or visiting the Gyp-Tec office at 701 Kingsway Ave.

Tickets are $20 each and include a 6 oz steak, side (fries or onion rings) and a highball or domestic beer. Tickets can be used on Friday or any other time you wish, organizers say. All ticket sale proceeds will go to Joe and his family.
