A Kelowna man is facing a criminal charge of dangerous driving, after an RCMP officer recorded a Porsche travelling at 270 kilometres per hour on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Calgary.
Mounties say the car was going nearly two-and-a-half times the posted speed limit on the night of Sept. 15 during regular traffic enforcement.
The speed limit on that stretch of highway is 110 kilometres per hour.
A 36-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving and is scheduled to appear in Cochrane provincial court on Dec. 13.
