Simon Curliss
2016 ~ 2022
After a short but brave fight with cancer, Simon Jordan Curliss passed away on October 6th, 2022, at the Flames Rotary House in Calgary. He passed as he often lived, holding on to his mom and dad’s hands, at the age of 6. He was born and raised in Medicine Hat. Simon loved life, and was always ready to go swimming, to the dog park, camping, hiking or even just to the grocery store. He loved his family and wasn’t afraid to tell them, and was often running and laughing with his blond curly hair flowing behind him. He loved throwing rocks in the river, loved his teachers and friends at Crestwood School, the Snake Slide at the Big Marble Go Centre and all of the beautiful coulee paths where they walked their dogs. His nurses knew him to be a great helper, and while Simon said that being in the hospital was obnoxious, he often found reasons to smile. Simon will be deeply missed by those that knew him, especially his parents, Leanne and Travis, and his brothers, Ethan, Tony and Charlie as well as his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Simon doesn’t like it when people he loves are sad, so we’ll try our best while we remember him and honor his memory at a service on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7 Sierra Blvd SW, Medicine Hat. Private interment will take place prior to the service at Redcliff Cemetery.
