MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s a sunny Thanksgiving weekend in Medicine Hat, providing many options for people to spend the long weekend.

Cathy Larsen, who moved to Medicine Hat from Ontario last year, says the main event of her Thanksgiving weekend is having dinner on Sunday with her family. She says she chooses the Sunday because “we can just relax on the Monday.”

Larsen said she was thankful for her family this weekend, and “the beautiful Medicine Hat, I just love it here.”

Hatter Ryan O’Reilly and his young son Finn said during the weekend their family hosts dinner on Saturday at his parents’ house and toward the end of the weekend get together for a big family photo like they were Monday at Police Point Park.

As well spending his Thanksgiving Monday at Police Point Park, Skylar Stroud took his sons Orion and Hunter fishing. Hunter added that this Thanksgiving he was very thankful for the food.

Young couple Sarah Mitchell and Devon Bordignon were planning to spend their Thanksgiving Monday in a different way. Bordignon wants to bring his niece to The Deep Dark installation that opened this weekend at Police Point Park.

By far the most popular way to spend the weekend among those CHAT News spoke to was appreciating the great weather of the holiday weekend and taking time to relax.
