March 26, 1938 ~ September 24, 2022
It is with a heavy heart that Linda announces her beloved husband, Nikolaus Hermann, went home to be with his Saviour on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the age of 84 years. Left to honour Nick’s memory are his children, Kurt (Jodi) Hermann, Glenn (Laura) Hermann and Teresa (Jason) Milos;grandchildren, Christopher (Kaley) Hermann and their son, Kallan, Ryan (Jen) Hermann and their son, Colt, Brant (Maria) Hermann, Kylee (Brody) Hermann as well as Sara, Brooklyn, Nicole and Kayla Milos. Nick is also survived by his siblings, Pete (Myrna) Hermann, Ann Salik, Renate (Terry) Courts, Joe (Nadine) Hermann and Ben Hermann. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Eva Hermann and Monica Hermann; grandson, Kameron Hermann as well as his siblings, Tony Hermann, John Hermann, Adolf Hermann and Curt Hermann. Nick was born in Karamurat, Romania and went to trade school in Germany to be a butcher. He married Linda on July 3, 1965, at the German Catholic Church in Calgary. Nick worked at the Battery Factory in Calgary before settling in Bow Island on the farm where him and Linda raised their family. Playing soccer, cards, crib, curling, fishing, watching sports, especially hockey, were just a few of Nick’s hobbies. He was a Knights of Columbus member for many years as his faith was very important to him. Any get together with friends and family as well as entering into the AgExpo in Lethbridge where Nick won many awards for his grains and alfalfa, were some of his greatest achievements in his life. Nick had a hard shell but a warm heart; especially for his family, whom will miss him most dearly. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so starting one hour prior to the start of Vigil Prayers which will be recited at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 113 – 1 Street East, Bow Island, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Father Wojciech Jarzecki celebrant. Interment will follow in the Bow Island Cemetery with a time of fellowship to follow thereafter at the Golden Age Club in Bow Island.
