Derek Mueller
1983 ~ 2022
It is with extremely heavy hearts that the family of Derek Mueller announce his passing in Medicine Hat on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the age of 38 years. Derek’s memory will remain in the hearts of his wife, Krista; the greatest joys of his life, his children, Trinity, Jaxin and Ryder; mother, Lisa Blackburn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Carol Lawson; his “brothers”, Chad Klettke, Jeff Burns and Brady Wist as well his niece, Denver and nephew, Daxx. Derek was born in Lethbridge on December 28, 1983, and was raised in Etzikom on a farm. After graduating from Medicine Hat High School in 2002, Derek worked for various oil field companies including Iron Horse Energy Services where he forged several great friendships. He loved spending time with his family, fast cars, camping, loud music, hanging out with his “brothers” and spending time at the Royal listening to live music. His greatest accomplishments in life were his children. Derek loved Trinity, Jaxin and Ryder more then anything in the world and he was so proud of who they were becoming. Derek’s sense of humour will be missed in his house and by all those who had the opportunity to have the honour of knowing him. A Come & Go Celebration of Derek’s life will be held at the Seven Persons Community Hall on Sunday, September 25, 2022, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. A short program will begin at 2:30 p.m. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at www.cooksouthland.com) In lieu of flowers and gifts, please make a donation to Our Collective Journey. Honoured to serve the family is Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, Crematorium & Reception Facility, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4V4. Telephone 403-527-6455
