1947 ~ Connie Shorrock ~ 2022
Connie Cameron Shorrock of Redcliff passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the age of 75 years.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Tammy) Magnusson; her step son, Kelly Magnusson; five grandchildren, Buddy (Nikki) Magnusson, Samantha (Clay) McDonald, Sarah (Shawn) Brooks, Tyler Magnusson, and Tanner (Megan) Vallee; one brother, Dunc (Brenda) Shorrock; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Howard Shorrock; one son, James Shorrock; her step daughter, Brenda Kalawarny; one brother, Harvey Shorrock; her sister, Hughene Terry; and her nephew, Robbie Shorrock.
Connie was born to Howard and Margaret Shorrock on January 13, 1947 in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Connie took great pride in all that she did, two of her most memorable jobs were managing the dining room at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club and her 25 years as a correctional officer at the Medicine Hat Remand Centre.
Connie’s love beyond her family was the mountains. Over 30 years of camping she gained a lifetime of friends whom all miss her dearly. The numerous campfire meals that only Connie could do. She truly was the “hostess with the mostest”. Food, drinks, stories, laughter, and of course the odd scare if she could.
Connie always wanted to show family and friends the beauty that the mountains had hidden within – fishing holes, berry patches, and waterfalls that were tucked away. By Connie’s request, no funeral service will be held.
