Members of the Medicine Hat Police Service will be taking a bone-chilling plunge all to raise money for the Special Olympics.
The annual Polar Plunge kicks off on March 12, behind the police station. This year, the police service hopes to recruit a dunk tank to make taking the plunge more fun. Medicine Hat chief of police Mike Worden is one of the officers taking part, and he says the Special Olympics is something that is near and dear to the organization.
“ The money that we raise goes specifically to the athletes in Medicine Hat. It is definately a great cause and really leads to great camaraderie among them and us,” Worden said.
