It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Dorothy ‘Dot’ Marie Gant, passed away at St. Joseph’s Home-Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the age of 82 years. Dot is survived by her three children: Randy (Peggy), Brian (Linda) and Tracey (Jason); four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald; parents, Charles and Katherine Lemna and brother, Larry. She was born on May 10, 1939. Dorothy married the love of her life, Donald Alfred Gant on August 22, 1959. She served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was a gentle and kind person loved by her family and many friends. Dot was an avid dart player, often representing Medicine Hat in tournaments throughout the province. She was a life long member and supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 as well as the first female vice-president. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will take place at a later date. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Mohanraj, the nursing staff of 4 West and 2 North of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Anne Malloy, Cook Southland Funeral Chapel and a very special thank you to the kind, caring and compassionate staff of St Joseph’s.
