Snowfall impacting highway travel

Highway travel in southeast Alberta and southwest Saskatchewan impacted by snowfall this morning

MEDICINE HAT — This morning’s snow is creating some travel issues on highways.

One tow truck driver called to say conditions in the Maple Creek area were poor, with blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibility.

The Saskatchewan highway hotline is showing winter conditions on roads across the southwest region with icy or slipper sections on both Highway 21 and the Trans Canada Highway.

Other than improved visibility, 5-1-1 Alberta shows the Number 1 highway to the Saskatchewan border is snow covered, with similar conditions on the 41 North and South.
