Teuntje ’Toni’ Prins
February 4, 1936 ~ February 12, 2022
Teuntje (Toni) Prins, beloved wife of the late Arnold Prins, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the age of 86 years. Toni was born in Barendrecht, The Netherlands, the fifth of ten children born to Arie and Bastiaantji Gouw. Toni and her family immigrated to Canada in 1951 where they settled in Magrath, AB. A few years later she met her husband, Arnold and they were married in 1958. They eventually moved to Redcliff where they owned and operated a Greenhouse business for many years. Once retired they made Medicine Hat their home. Toni will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Arie (Jill) and Debby (Albert) Den Otter; daughter-in-law, Ingrid; grandchildren: Colton, Curtis (Taylor), Taryn, Evan (Mimi), Eric, Liv and Owen; great-grandson, Andy. Toni also leaves behind her siblings: Rose (Klaas) TenHave, Ed (Marion) Gouw, Jim (Shirley) Gouw, John (Weltje) Gouw, Casey (Janet) Gouw, and Bill (Mary) Gouw. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; son, Barry; sister, Audrey and brothers, Arie Gouw and Jan Gouw. “We, the family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the care providers at Expressions River Ridge Seniors’ Home for the love and exceptional level of care they gave to Mom”. The Memorial Service will be held at the Christian Reformed Church, 300 Primrose Dr. S.E., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor George Koopmans officiating. (As per current Covid 19 protocols, attendance is no longer limited, however masks are mandatory for those attending) Private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery.
