October 16, 1950 ~ February 9, 2022 (age 71)
Donna peacefully passed on with family by her side at St. Joseph’s Home. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Eldon and Lillian Seymour. She was predeceased by her husband Albert (Al) Goertzen in 2004, as well as her sister, Verna Brown in 2016. Donna leaves behind two sons, Brent Goertzen (Kimberley Froese) and Allan (aka Al) Goertzen (Chantal Catellier), her grandchildren, Justin (Sara), Kyle and Christine and two great grandchildren, Carter and Sydney; her siblings Darlene Hiebert (Al), Dave Seymour (Jan) and numerous nieces and nephews. Donna held various jobs throughout her life from serving tables at the local Husky in Headingley; retiring in 2015 from AquaTech after being employed there for 30 years. Our childhood was filled with fun and laughter because we had a mother like Donna. Mom enjoyed camping immensely. She camped with family and friends up until her first diagnosis with Cancer. Memories by the lake are countless. One memory is of her listening to the Friday Night Bomber game on the radio tuned on CJOB. Yes folks, she was a hard-core Bomber fan. She was elated seeing her team have back-to-back Grey Cup wins. Another great love of hers was Saturday afternoon Bingo. She could be found at the Selkirk Legion listening for that B6! Thank you, Mom, for all that you have done for us. We love you very much! At Donna’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
