Sudershan Grover
1936 ~ 2022
On Tuesday, December 21st, 2021, we lost our Mother, Grandmother and Auntie… Mrs. Sudershan Kumari Grover. She was born the second youngest in a loving family of ten children in Batala PB, India on November 25th, 1936. Family, education and mentoring were her passion. Sue soon became a teacher and quickly moved up the ranks to Principal before moving to Canada in 1967. She immediately enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan and finished the three classes required to get the Canadian equivalent of her B.ED degree so she could continue teaching. She was immediately hired by the federal government and continued her career in education. Sue lived a life of resilience, courage and sacrifice. She continued her teaching career for 28 more years… all of the while raising her three sons by herself. Everything that she did was for her family. Sue was a mother, a father figure, a confidante and friend to her boys. Their well-being and ensuring that they had a successful future was her singular focus. She always emphasized the importance of family, of having a strong and generous heart and relentless determination. Sue passed on these principles to her sons, Dr. Rajiv Grover (Sapan), Dr. Rajesh Grover (Jackie) and Dr. Ramon S. Grover (Lena). Her spirit and values will live on in her nine grandchildren that she loved beyond words: Surina, Sanjay, Raya, Ronak, Avani, Tarak, Taj, Ari and Ila. She will also be greatly missed by her niece, Anita (Alan) Reinhart and their family: Shane (Heidi), Hayden, Quinn and Soren. Thank you to Pundit Rahul Dev Acharya for the celebration of Sue’s life that was held on December 23rd, 2021, as well as to Cook Southland Funeral Chapel for their assistance.
