1929 – Rose Getz – 2021
Rose Getz of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the age of 92 years, beloved wife of the late Valentine Getz. She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Gary Getz and Glen (Judy) Getz; two grandchildren, David Getz (Jade Anhelher; their children Bria and Laken); and Jade Getz (Krista Lauridsen); one sister Betty Porter and her sisters-in-law, Frances Andersen, Martha Hegg and Esther Hahn as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Katherine and Gustav Hahn; her husband Valentine on November 28, 2013; four sisters, Martha Albrecht, Meta Emann, Kay Anhorn and Lily Smith; two brothers Otto Hahn and Herb Hahn. Rose was born on June 21, 1929 at Golden Prairie, Saskatchewan. In her teens, she ventured to Medicine Hat and began her employment at Medalta Potteries. It was there that she met Valentine and they were married on July 7, 1950. In 1952, they moved into their home and raised their family there. She remained in that home until just recently when she had to move due to ill health. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Due to the restrictions brought forward by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, indoor public gatherings are to be kept to 50 people. Masks are mandatory. The service will be live streamed, and family and friends who are unable to attend are invited to watch the service by searching for the Pattison Funeral Home Youtube page. The video will go live 10 minutes prior to service time and will remain on the youtube page for future viewing. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
