Marilyn Grace Lillian Pahl passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the age of 80 years, beloved wife of Walter Pahl of Burdett. She also leaves to cherish her memory three children, Connie (Barry) Fleming of Ranier, Oren (Lorry) Pahl of Coleman, and Scott (Lori) Pahl of Lethbridge; four grandchildren, Tyler Fleming (fiancé, Dana), Nicole Pahl (fiancé, Jason), Ryan Holt (Brittany), and Tyler Holt (Jade); eight great-grandchildren, Zack, Brooklynn, Payton, Afton, Hudsyn, Jayce, Auri and Serenity; her brother, David (Marlene) Theriau; her sister, Gwen Starblanket; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Dora and Charles Theriau; three brothers, Chuck, Eddie, and Lemme; and one sister, Audrey. Marilyn grew up in Saskatchewan until the age of 13 when her father was transferred to Bow Island. She met Walter and they were married in 1958 and they continued to live in Bow Island until Walter and his brother decided to open a service station in Burdett. During the summers Marilyn began cooking at the Alberta Bible Camp and after her children were grown in the early 80’s, she started cooking at the Pleasantview Lodge as head cook until her retirement. A private funeral service will be held in the Evangelical Free Church in Bow Island on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor George Mills officiating. Due to the restrictions brought forward by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, indoor public gatherings are to be kept to 50 people. Masks are mandatory. Interment will follow in the Burdett Cemetery.
