Kenney: COVID-19 restrictions could be relaxed next week

Premier Jason Kenney says his United Conservative government may relax some COVID-19 restrictions next week for the holiday season.
Kenney says the timing appears to be right with the province expected to reach a goal of no more than 173 ICU beds in use by next Tuesday.
But he says the province needs to be cautious now that the Omicron variant has arrived.
Kenney also says he expects to announce a broader rollout early next week of COVID-19 rapid test kits, making them available to anyone who wants them.
