‘Where there is faith, there is love, Where there is love, there is peace, Where there is peace, there is God.’
’ “I HAVE WALKED THROUGH THE DAY AND THROUGH THE NIGHTS, IN SUNSHINE AND IN STORM, AND ALWAYS…ALWAYS, THERE IS THE WONDROUS BEAUTY OF GOD”
A note from her great niece, Tracy: As I’ve spent the past few years helping auntie Laura, I was able to really get to know her better. She was a very strong and independent woman. Still flying across the country by herself, to airforce reunions at the age of 89. Over the past year, giving up her independence was very hard on her and she was not afraid to let me know how frustrated she was. Auntie had a life well lived and full of adventure, and I am so thankful to have spent these last few years getting to know her better. In honour of Laura, call a relative or friend who may be alone, pop in on someone with a coffee, or just do something nice to make someone elses day better. Above all, just be kind. Thank you so much to friends and family who reached out to auntie and I this past year. And special thank you to Dr. Jonker and the wonderful staff at the Good Samaritan’s for helping Laura live out her days with dignity and respect. Rest easy auntie, you will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place and as per her wishes there will not be a funeral service. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com).
