1936 ~ Yvonne Meiring ~ 2021
Yvonne Alice Meiring passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the age of 85 years, beloved wife of John Meiring of Cypress County. She also leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Madeleine (Adriaan) Kriel; three grandchildren, Phoebe, Adriaan and Wessel; her brother, Johannes van der merwe and sister-in-law, Judy van der merwe. She was predeceased by her parents, Alice and Ivan van der merwe; her daughter, Alice van Rensburg and two brothers, Augustus and Ivan. Yvonne spent her first 20 years in Keetmanshoop, Namibia, then moved back to Pretoria, South Africa where she met and married John in 1963. They raised two daughters, Alice and Madeleine. Yvonne lived for her family; she loved spoiling them with elaborate dinners, and was always there to lend a helping hand. Inherently feisty, she had a sharp wit and a wicked sense of humour. She loved flowers and was a keen gardener. Her love for animals was evident especially for her pet dogs, Snippie and Jakkals. A private funeral service for family and friends will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor George Koopmans officiating. Due to the restrictions brought forward by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, indoor public gatherings are to be kept to 50 people. Masks are mandatory. The service will be live streamed, and family and friends who are unable to attend are invited to watch the service by searching for the Pattison Funeral Home Youtube page. The video will go live 10 minutes prior to service time and will remain on the youtube page for future viewing. Those who wish to remember Yvonne with a donation, may do so to the Medicine Hat and District Food Bank https://www.mhfoodbank.com.
