Medicine Hat loses another person to COVID-19

Medicine Hat, AB– Medicine Hat has recorded another death as a result of COVID-19.

There have been 78 total deaths in our city since the pandemic began.

Currently, there are 107 active cases of COVID-19 in Medicine Hat as of Tuesday.

Medicine Hat has had 4,433 total cases – the 107 active, 4,248 recovered.

Among Hatters 12 and over, 83.8 per cent have received at least one dose of vaccine and 77.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.

72.8 per cent of all Hatters have received at least one dose of vaccine at the latest update and 67 per cent of Hatters are fully vaccinated.

There are 6,911 active cases in the province.

Alberta’s total cases from the start of the pandemic is 324, 514. 314, 484 have recovered.

There are now 691 Albertans in hospital with COVID-19, 159 of which are in ICU, and 3, 119 deaths (8 since the last update.)

The positivity rate is about 5.23 per cent.

Alberta has administered 6,559, 777 doses of vaccine at the latest update.

Province-wide, 87.1 per cent of Albertans 12 years old and up have received at least one dose of vaccine and 80.3 per cent are fully vaccinated.

There are a number of local outbreaks listed on AHS website.

Cypress County has totaled 839 cases. There are 27 active cases, 806 recovered and six deaths.

The County of Forty Mile has 336 total cases. There are 18 active cases, 313 recovered and there have been five deaths.

Brooks has 2,083 total cases — 22 active cases and 2,038 are recovered. Brooks has recorded 23 deaths.
