Mary was born on July 27, 1933, the eldest of nine children born to George and Jacobina Tumbach. She was raised on the farm and farming later became her life’s work. Mary married Peter Hintz in 1954 and together they were blessed with two children Irene and Rose. Mary was her girls greatest supporter. She was so proud of all their accomplishments and the adults they had become. On October 19, 1967, Mary married Henry Bachmeier and welcomed his two children Robert and Adeline into her life. Mary was a great mother and a wonderful grandmother. She treasured the times spent with family and has a special place in her heart for each one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary had a strong faith in God which saw her through many difficult times in her life. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She always enjoyed a good joke. Mary had numerous hobbies. She was always busy painting, sewing, scrapbooking history books and memory photo albums for her great grandchildren or making straw flowers to gift to family and friends. Her favorite pastime was playing crib. She formed many strong friendships with her weekly crib players, sometimes playing three to four times a week. Mary’s generous ways, her zest for life and her ‘get up and go’ attitude will be missed by everyone who had the good fortune to be part of her life. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” A private funeral service will take place in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend.
