Albert Boller

Running everywhere he went was Albert Boller’s signature move. Never one to waste a minute, he was always trying to fit as much as he could into the day. Albert finally stopped running his race on June 7, 2021, surrounded by the family that he loved and that loved him dearly in return.
Albert was the eldest of four children born to Anna and Albert Boller in Hittnau, Switzerland. According to Albert, their family (who owned a dairy farm) was not wealthy but always had the necessities. He was definitely a jokester at times in his younger years; however, if you want details you will have to hit up the right family member for a story!
An adventurous spirit took him first to England for a horticultural apprenticeship as a farm manager, then to Canada (also working in agriculture) where he met and married the love of his life, Anna Erbenich. He and Anna had four living children: Evelyn (Barry) Maier, Ingrid (Alex) Belinsky, David (Jean) Boller, and Trevor (Tracey) Boller who were the great joys of his life.
Apart from his dedication to his family, Albert was an exceptionally conscientious and an indefatigable employee who in 40 years of employment in greenhouses only missed a half a day of work! He was someone who always did his best and was generous to a fault – traits that extended into every area of his life. Albert was always thinking of others before himself.
If you lived in Medicine Hat, particularly in the Flats, ten or more years ago, then there is a good chance you had Albert knock on your door at one time or another canvassing for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, (ADRA).
Aside from his sincere desire to help anyone in need, we are fairly certain that more than anything he just loved to visit with everyone. Always one of the first through church doors and the last to leave, Albert always delighted in being with others. If you were a friend in the hospital, (or really, even just an acquaintance), and under the weather, he would try to brighten your day by bringing you roses that he had grown himself.
Albert is survived by his brother Fritz (Emmi); his children; his grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Jonathan, Bradley, Douglas, Justin, Michael, and Kayla, seven great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and other beloved family members. We will dearly miss his warm, kind, and gracious spirit but look forward with great anticipation to seeing him again in the twinkling of an eye.
Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church (1933 Dunmore Road SE) on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Redcliff Cemetery.
