COVID-19 update: Province confirms 179 new cases

MEDICINE HAT, AB– There are 179 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed today. In total there are 3,247 active cases province-wide.

The province’s chief medical officer of health also confirmed 229 new variants of concern cases.

There are 290 people in hospital, including 74 in ICU. The province also confirmed four new deaths.

In Medicine Hat, there are 28 active cases, 1,198 recoveries and 22 deaths. The percentage of the population that has received at least one dose of the vaccine is 56.3 per cent.

Cypress County has four active cases, 291 recoveries and one recorded death.

The city of Brooks has 14 active cases , 1,472 recoveries and 15 deaths.

Lethbridge County has 16 active cases, 1,226 recoveries, and 12 deaths.

The city of Lethbridge has 31 active cases, 4,758 recoveries and 38 deaths.
