A big thanks to author and medical doctor Alex Lickerman for sharing his insights with us. His book, The Undefeated Mind – One the Science of Constructing an Indestructible Self, validated the very thing I have been working on and speaking about for years – that it is our  responsibility to create resilience, develop fortitude and strengthen our resolve.

Dr. Lickerman uses case studies, scientific research and the tenets of Nichiren Buddhism to show that while we cannot control much of what happens to us, we can use nine principle to dramatically increase our inner strength (whether we are Buddhist or not).

Noticing how some patients withstood terrible ailments with relative ease and others who with only mild issues where incapacitated, this caring doctor set out to figure out the why behind the mystery.

Listen to the podcast to find out some surprising answering to questions that effect us all.
