Amazon is investing in a renewable energy project to be built in southeastern Alberta.
The online retailer says the 80-megawatt solar project will be built near the Trans-Canada Highway about 10 to 15 kilometres southeast of Bassano.
The facility will produce almost 200,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy for the grid. That’s said to be enough to power more than 18,000 Canadian homes for one year.
Construction on the Lathom Solar project is expected to start in 2022.
