‘It was heart-sinking’: Unique bus broken into

REDCLIFF, AB- A Redcliff man is hoping for answers after finding the window to his bus smashed into Saturday morning.

For four years Zachary Bomek spent countless hours and thousands of dollars converting an old school bus into an RV so he can make lasting memories with his two children. But Saturday morning his heart sank when his sister found a window smashed open outside his home in the 600 block of 7th street southeast.

“ It was brutal it was heart-sinking it was almost like losing a pet,” he said.

Bomek moved to Redcliff just two weeks ago from Medicine Hat and never suspected this would happen. He did a quick sweep of the bus under construction, and thankfully nothing was stolen, that he is aware of.

Bomek was hoping to have the bus up and running soon, but that will likely be postponed because of the broken glass. The bus is not insured meaning all the costs will have to come out of his own pocket.

The RCMP has been notified, according to Bomek.

He is pleading to anyone with information or video footage to pass it along to the RCMP.

CHAT NEWS has reached out to the Redcliff RCMP for additional comment.
