No direct threat to school

Brief Hold and Secure at Crescent Heights High School on Tuesday

Mar 2, 2021 | 10:49 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Crescent Heights High School was briefly under Hold and Secure protocol this morning.

In a post on the school’s Facebook page, it says police directed CHHS to activate the Hold and Secure at 9:27 a.m. as a precautionary measure due to an incident in the area.

There was “no direct threat to the school,” the post reads.

Students stayed safely inside the school and classes proceeded.

Medicine Hat Police Service gave the all clear at 9:37 a.m. and the Hold and Secure was lifted.

CHHS says families with questions about the response today can contact administration at 403-527-6641.

CHHS also asks families to look for up-to-date information on the school’s website and Facebook page during emergency situations and not call the school so that the phone lines remain clear.
