1933 ~ Audrey Schaffer ~ 2021

Audrey Doreen Schaffer (Paulson) beloved wife of the late Harvey Schaffer passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the age of 87 years at the Wellington Retirement Residence. Born in Medicine Hat to Edwin and Amanda Paulson on November 4, 1933 where she grew up and later met the love of her life, Harvey Schaffer, who she was married to for 63 years. She is survived by her children: Darrell (Ruth) Schaffer, Sandra (Terry) Goldade, Dale Schaffer, Brian (Ericka) Schaffer, and daughter-in-law Ann (Bill) Ferguson, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, her brother Russ (Lynne) Paulson, sisters Janice (John) Judge and Carol (Jim) Lines, sisters-in-law Bernice Paulson, Lorine (Howard) Mock, and Alice Schaffer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Harvey (2015), son Terry (2002), parents Edwin and Amanda Paulson, brother Howard Paulson, and in-laws Peter and Helen Schaffer.

Audrey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Audrey and Harvey raised their family in Redcliff, where she worked for Medalta Potteries before becoming a proud mother raising her five children. She enjoyed having family dinners on a regular basis, as she was an amazing cook. Cooking things like strudels and dumplings was her specialty, which the entire family always looked forward to. Audrey also enjoyed gardening and her yard was proof as it always looked amazing. She was involved for years volunteering for the Redcliff Lionettes and the Redcliff Seniors Society. Audrey was a kind and thoughtful woman who will be loved and missed dearly by all who knew her.

The Wellington Retirement Residence was the place Audrey called home for the past four years, and our family is grateful to Dr. Monty and the amazing team of caregivers at The Wellington, that assisted in her daily care and comfort.

A private time of remembrance will be held at the PATTISON CHAPEL on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Family and friends are invited to remotely attend the funeral service by searching for the Pattison Funeral Home youtube page where the video will go live 10 minutes prior to service time.
