1927 – Rev. Arthur Zeller – 2021
Rev. Arthur, was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday January 2, 2021 at the age of 93 years, beloved husband of Annettte Zeller for 51 ½ years. He also leaves to cherish his memory two children, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter: son, Darrell (Bonnie) Zeller of Medicine Hat and Darrell’s children, Adam Zeller and Kristen Zeller (Tyler Gordon and their daughter Stella); daughter, Carol (Wayne) Kopchia and their children Michelle (Zacharias) Geib and Jason Kopchia (Lindsay Clarkson) of Calgary; and Annette’s sister Betty Byrne of Gilbert, Arizona. Arthur was predeceased by his parents Christina and John Zeller Sr., his daughter-in-law Margaret Zeller in 2007; his brothers, John Jr. (Lillian), Ernest (Ellenore); sisters, Erna (Kenneth) Edwards, Leona (Gordon) Weidman; his first wife Leona (Ries) in 1966, and by two daughters in infancy, Sandra and Cynthia. Arthur was born on July 26, 1927 in Paris, Romania, then immigrated to Canada that year with his parents to live in the Golden Prairie district of Saskatchewan. In his teens, Arthur went to Edmonton to C.T.I. to complete his education. He then went on to Sioux Falls North American Baptist Seminary. After that, he was Ordained into the Ministry and served various churches in Saskatchewan and Alberta. After his wife’s passing, he took a nursing course and became a Registered Nursing Orderly, serving on the Riverview Nursing Home in Medicine Hat for 7 ½ years. It was around this time he met and married Annette Farquharson and they married July 19, 1969. Later he took employment with the Medicine Hat Travelodge for 10 ½ years as their building Maintenance Manager. During this time he began to have health problems and had an Angioplasty and could not return to work, so began his time helping to raise his grandchildren, which he loved and enjoyed every day of. Art also loved his garden and every spring couldn’t wait to see it grow. His hobbies were fishing and golfing but the love of his life was his children and grandchildren and great granddaughter Stella. He also continued to serve as pastor whenever called upon to fill the pulpit. He enjoyed travelling with his wife for many years. They enjoyed camping years, visiting relatives, making new friends and catching up with old friends. We will miss him forever, but God will take care of him and some day we will meet again in Heaven. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday evening between 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. (Masks are mandatory) Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jamie McDonald and Pastor Michael Deibert co-officiating.
