Redcliff Legion offers free hot meals to members, veterans & families in need

REDCLIFF, AB – The Redcliff Legion is offering free hot meals to members and veterans in need right now, and they will continue to do so after the holidays.

Membership Secretary Nicole Pilon says they will continue to provide these free meals as long as they are able to.

The initiative was brought to the executive by their new president Matthew Watton.

Pilon says the meals are also available for families and single parents struggling.

Those ordering a free meal would just need to provide their service number, or evidence of service with the CAF, RCMP, or a T4 for verification.

The Robertson Memorial Branch #17 in Medicine Hat are also helping to financially fund meals and will be providing gift cards. The Redcliff Ladies Auxilary are also supporting.

Pilon says the meals available are on their take-out menu.

“I know first hand as a single mom, I went through some hard times too, and reaching out is not easy. But we are here and we want to help because we do know of members who are struggling but they have such a hard time, they’re such proud people and they don’t want to ask for help.”

Pilon says you can call the legion to order. Pick-up and delivery options are available.

With their kitchen open, anyone is welcome to purchase and place a take-out order as well.

The Redlciff Legion also has an online 50/50 underway.

The Redcliff Legion takeout hours are Tuesday-Saturday 12-7 and Sunday 12-3.
