Desjardins on the latest setback for WHL season

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The wait continues for the Medicine Hat Tigers and their fans.

The Western Hockey League confirmed on Tuesday that it will not be able to meet its projected Jan. 8 start date.

The decision follows consultation with health authorities in each of the six provinces and states that WHL has teams.

Tigers head coach and GM Willie Desjardins spoke to CHAT News about the latest setback, which he said is a disappointment but is the right decision.

He also touched on the challenge faced by players looking to show scouts what they can do and the signs that things will get better.
