511 Alberta says Highway 41 between the Trans-Canada and Elkwater has been fully reopened.

UPDATE 10 a.m.

511 Alberta is reporting two semi-trailer units have jackknifed on the Trans-Canada Highway between Irvine and Walsh.

Jackknifed semi-trailer on Highway 1 westbound near Graburn Rd. Activities: No passing, Speed reduction, Traffic congestion, Expect traffic delays

Westbound Highway 1, 2.5 km west of Walsh, jackknifed semi-trailer blocking one lane. Emergency crews on scene. Expect delays.

Westbound Highway 1, west of the Alberta/Saskatchewan border, east of Walsh, jackknifed semi blocking both lanes. Traffic being detoured around the scene. Expect delays.

511 Alberta says Highway 41 between the Trans-Canada Highway and Elkwater is closed due to extreme winter road conditions. No ETO available.

An advisory about a jackknifed semi affecting eastbound travel on the Number One highway in Saskatchewan, has now been removed from the Saskatchewan Highway hotline.

However conditions remain poor with blowing and drifting snow and icy sections from the Alberta border east to Maple Creek.

5-1-1 Alberta is not recommending travel east from Medicine Hat to the Saskatchewan border due to blowing and drifting snow.

Travel is also not recommended on Highway 41 south to Elkwater from the Number One highway, due to blowing and drifting snow.

511 Alberta’s latest report on the Number One highway east from Medicine Hat to the Saskatchewan border says travel is not recommended.

Blowing and drifting snow are making for poor travel conditions.

MEDICINE HAT — Highway travel east on the number one is again being impacted by drifting snow.

A caller to the newsroom says it’s slow going eastbound inside the Saskatchewan border as semi-trailers struggle to make it over snow drifts that pile up faster than highways crews can clear them.

Saskatchewan’s highway hotline also reports a jackknifed semi in the east bound lane is slowing traffic from 10 kilometers east of the Alberta border to the Junction of Highway 21 at Maple Creek.

It says motorists should expect delays of 30 minutes to one hour.

We also had a report of a semi blocking one lane of the Trans Canada eastbound at Dunmore.
