More than 100 active cases in Lethbridge

One new COVID-19 case in Medicine Hat, four active cases total

Medicine Hat has one new case of COVID-19 for a total of four active cases.

The city has counted 85 cases during the pandemic – 79 are recovered and there have been two deaths.

Across Alberta, there are 243 new cases according to Wednesday’s online update,

The total number of COVID-19 cases across the province stands at 21,199. There are 2,689 active cases, up 74 from Tuesday, and 18,223 recovered cases, up 168.

There are currently 100 Albertans in hospital, 14 in ICU. There have been 287 deaths, up one from Tuesday.

The province conducted 14,881 tests in the past 24 hours.

On Wednesday there are 89 schools in the province where outbreaks have been declared. Alberta Health’s threshold for declaring an outbreak in school is two cases being in a school while infectious within 14 days.

No local schools are classified as having outbreaks on the provincial website.

The website Support Our Students is tracking instances of cases in schools across the province. Elm Street School and Herald School were added to the list on Oct. 5, and Ecole St. John Paul II has been on it since late August.

Three schools in Taber were added to the list on Tuesday after they were alerted that a person affiliated with them tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.

There 2,018 cases in the South Zone. There are 177 active cases and 1,815 recovered. There are currently four COVID-19 cases in hospital in the South Zone, none in the ICU. There have been 26 deaths in the zone.

Cypress County has totaled 33 cases – all recovered.

The County of Forty Mile has 42 total cases. There are three active cases and the rest are recovered.

The MD of Taber has 44 total cases — all recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has 17 total cases, three active cases and the rest recovered.

Brooks has 1,134 total cases — three active and 1,122 are recovered. Brooks has recorded nine deaths.

The County of Newell has a total of 35 cases — three active cases, 30 recovered and there have been two deaths.

The County of Warner has 65 total cases. There are three active cases, 61 are recovered cases and there has been one death in the county.

The City of Lethbridge has a total of 296 cases. There are 112 active cases, 182 recovered and there have been two deaths. Lethbridge County has 101 cases, 45 active cases and the rest recovered.

The figures on alberta.ca are “up-to-date as of end of day Oct. 13, 2020.”

Saskatchewan reported 25 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, one in the South Zones.

Saskatchewan has a total of 2,199 cases, 254 considered active. There are 1,920 recovered cases and there have been 25 COVID-19 deaths in the province.
