85 new cases across province

Active COVID-19 case count rises by one in Medicine Hat

Medicine Hat has one additional COVID-19 case in Tuesday’s update, bringing the city’s total to 65. There are three active cases, 60 recovered and two deaths.

Alberta announced 85 new cases on Tuesday and now has a total of 11,772 cases. Of those, 10,552 are recovered, an increase of 168, and 1,004 are active, a drop of 86.

There are 62 Albertans currently in hospital due to COVID-19, 14 of which are in ICU. There are a total of 216 deaths, an increase of three.

The province conducted 7,057 tests in the past 24 hours.

The South Zone has a total of 1,704 cases —1,627 recovered, an increase of 13, and 57 active, a decrease of four.

There are five people in the zone in hospital, four of which are in ICU, and there have been 20 deaths.

Cypress County has totalled 31 cases – all recovered.

The County of Forty Mile has 19 total cases, six active cases and 13 recovered.

The MD of Taber has 38 total cases — two active, 35 recovered and one death, the first recorded in the MD.

Special Areas No. 2 has zero active cases and 15 recovered.

Brooks has 1,124 total cases —1,114 are recovered and one active. This is the first new case in about a week. Brooks has recorded nine deaths. The County of Newell has a total of 28 cases — five active, 22 recovered and one death.

The County of Warner has 55 total cases. There are now 53 recovered cases, one new active case and one death in the county.

The City of Lethbridge has a total of 142 cases. Of those, 17 are listed as active and 123 recovered and there have been two deaths there. Lethbridge County has 30 cases, four active cases and 26 recovered.

The figures on alberta.ca are “up-to-date as of end of day Aug. 10, 2020.”

Saskatchewan reported 29 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, seven in the South Zone.

Saskatchewan has a total of 1,479 cases, 165 considered active. There are 1,294 recovered cases and there have been 20 COVID-19 deaths in the province.
