80 new cases across province, active cas

Three new COVID-19 cases in Medicine Hat

Medicine Hat has three new cases of COVID-19, the first increase since last Wednesday. The city now has 61 total cases – 10 active, 50 recovered and one death.

Alberta has 80 new cases across the province, bringing the total to 10,470.

There are 1,397 active cases, down from 1,430 on Monday, and 8,886 recovered cases, a jump of 112.

There are 88 Albertans currently in hospital due to COVID-19, 16 of which are in ICU. There is one more death for a total of 187.

The province conducted 7,900 tests in the past 24 hours.

The South Zone has a total of 1,616 cases —1,460 recovered, an increase of 18, and 140 active, a decrease of two.

There are 15 people in the zone in hospital, three of which are in ICU and there have been 16 deaths.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, will provide her next in-person update on July 30.

Cypress County has totalled 31 cases – one active case and 30 recovered.

The County of Forty Mile has 12 total cases, three active cases and nine recovered.

The MD of Taber has 33 total cases — 15 active and 18 recovered.

Special Areas No. 2 has 10 active cases and two recovered.

Brooks has 1,123 total cases —1,111 are recovered and three are active. Brooks has recorded nine deaths. The County of Newell has a total of 23 cases — three active and 20 recovered.

The County of Warner has 53 total cases. There are now six active cases and 46 recovered. There has been one death in the county.

The City of Lethbridge has a total of 110 cases. Of those, 38 are listed as active and 70 recovered. Lethbridge County has 25 cases, 8 active cases and 17 recovered.

The figures on alberta.ca are “up-to-date as of end of day July 27, 2020.”

Saskatchewan reported nine new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, three of which are in the South Zone.

There is no mention in the update of cases on colonies, a departure from the past 10 days when cases were found each day on colonies in the southwest and west central areas of the province.

Saskatchewan has a total of 1,218 cases, 294 considered active. There are 907 recovered cases and there have been 17 COVID-19 deaths in the province.
