Medicine Hat College preparing for unique fall semester

Jun 25, 2020 | 11:29 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat College is looking at a mix of online and blended programming for the fall semester.

“Medicine Hat College has been working diligently to ensure the best possible experience for new and continuing students, both face-to-face and online. As we look forward to the upcoming semester, we are paying a great detail of attention to both of these experiences,” explains Kevin Shufflebotham, president and CEO of MHC.

Shufflebotham adds learning that requires face-to-face interaction such as lab work and the use of special equipment will get priority access to college spaces.

On the digital side, the college has made investments in new technology to improve the virtual learning experience for online courses.

“From faculty to support staff, the library to counselling, advising to financial aid, we will continue to welcome students and are ready to help them succeed in the fall,” says Shufflebotham.

Program webpages have been updated with information specific to Fall 2020 program delivery. Early information on course delivery and technology requirements can be found on the MHC website.

Plans for how the college will deliver classes for the winter semester will be re-evaluated later.

Additional details with program-specific information will be communicated mid- to late-July via student email and on mhc.ab.ca.

The college announced last week that the fall semester of athletics has been postponed to spring 2021.
