1929 ~ Victoria Stasienko ~ 2020

Victoria Stasienko of Medicine Hat passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 at the age of 90 years, beloved wife of the late Michael Stasienko who left her side in 1999. Victoria was born in Semenow, Poland on August 29, 1929. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children, John (Kathy) Stasienko of Medicine Hat and their daughters, Sydney and Lauren, Mary (Jeff) Davis of Calgary, Margaret (Mike) Thomson of Medicine Hat and their sons, Tyson and Cameron. She was predeceased by her parents, Teofila and Jan Gorzanska; by her husband, Mike on November 13, 1999; three brothers and two sisters. Victoria immigrated to Canada in 1958 to marry Michael in Medicine Hat. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, always putting them ahead of herself. She took great pride in caring for her family as well as her love of gardening and cooking and was well known for her famous perogies. When you came for a visit to Victoria’s home you never left hungry and always left with a full heart and a big smile. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her as her generosity touched many lives. We would like to thank Dr. Tony Jeraj, her longtime doctor and Dr. Segio Ciubotara who looked after her during the last two years. We would also like to express a special thank you to all staff at River Ridge who lovingly cared for our dear mother. The quality of care provided was exceptional. We can’t commend enough gratitude we feel towards this wonderful facility. God bless you all. A private family graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery with Father Iqbal Khurshid officiating.
