1944 ~ Larry Deering ~ 2020
Larry Arthur Deering passed away on May 13, 2020 at the age of 75 years, beloved husband of Joan Deering of Medicine Hat. Larry was born and raised on the family farm south of Irvine. Larry followed Joan to Calgary and were married July 2nd, 1965, where they resided for 8 years working as an accountant for UFA. The two oldest children were born in Calgary. Larry and his family took the opportunity to return to the family farm in 1973, where the youngest was born. Larry was actively involved in the community within several organizations, including both the Irvine and District Agricultural Society and Councillor for Cypress County. Larry and Joan sold the farm in 1991 and moved to Medicine Hat. Larry started working in real estate, but eventually returned to his roots and opened his own book keeping company until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed his retirement with his family, hobbies and fully embraced his typical roles of Mr. Fix It and Papa. Larry managed to do all this while facing the challenges of ongoing health issues. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Mark (Kari Lynn) Deering, Coreen (Terry) Litton and Paul Deering (Lauren Last); six grandchildren, Natalia Thacker, Rhys Deering, Robyn (Justin) Coulter, Savannah Litton, Bryan (Ashley) Litton and Stacey (Simon) Fettig; two great grandchildren, Maddison Litton and Ayden Litton; his brother Glenn (Louise) Deering and four nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Lydia (Lily) Deering and his brother Raymond Deering. A private family interment will be held. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. The Deering family extends a special thank you to Dr. Jensen, Amy RN of Home Care, Dr. Arbillaga, Dr. Mason and Dr. Dang. Those who wish to remember Larry with a donation, may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or AJ’s Loan Cupboard.
