Generals survive in overtime; game six in Medicine Hat tonight

MEDICINE HAT — The Medicine Hat Cubs get another chance to advance into the third round of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League playoffs, as they host the Cochrane Generals tonight in game six of their second round best of seven series.

Cochrane stayed alive with a 3-2 home ice win last night, but it took overtime to decide the game.

Brandon Aab scored 7:55 into overtime to give Cochrane another life in the series.

Medicine Hat goalie Dawsen Savage stopped 51 of the 53 shots he faced in the game.

Noah Irvine gave Medicine Hat a 1-0 lead after the first period.

Spencer Chapman’s third period goal tied the game and sent the contest into overtime.

Game six tonight at the Kinplex is a 7:30 start.
