Going green for Medicine Hat SPCA

Feb 13, 2020 | 9:41 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A local man is going green, literally, for a good cause.

John Hamill with the Academy of Learning will be dying his hair and mustache green on St. Patrick’s Day.

But there’s a catch, more than $2000 will need to be raised for the Medicine Hat SPCA.

Hamill says each college comes up with a fundraiser for a charity.

He chose the SPCA because he loves animals.

“SPCA is a very well-deserving organization. They need money to look after the thousands of pets in the city that are handed in every week, there’s always a couple.”

Hamill will then shave off his mustache, which he has done before for a Movember campaign.

He says it grows back, but he does miss it.

Contact the Academy of Learning to make a donation from now until March 14.
