Sinclair breaks soccer world record for career goals

EDINBURG, Texas – Christine Sinclair has made soccer history.

The Canadian star broke the world record for career goals tonight when she scored her second goal against St. Kitts and Nevis.

Sinclair now has 185 goals, one more than American Abby Wambach.

Tonight’s goals came in the opener of the regional women’s Olympic qualifying tournament in Edinburg, Texas.

Canada next plays against Jamaica on Saturday.

The top two teams in the eight-team tournament qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
