City unemployment rate at 4.1 per cent in December according to Statistics Canada

MEDICINE HAT — Stats Canada says the unemployment rate for Medicine Hat dropped 2.3 per cent between December of 2018 and 2019.

It also says 42 thousand people were working in Medicine Hat in December, an increase of 7 thousand compared with December of last year.

It puts the unemployment rate for Medicine Hat in December at 4.1 per cent compared to 6.4 in December of 2018.

Canada’s economy added over 35 thousand jobs in December, bringing the yearly total to over 320 thousand.
