Montreal aircraft refuellers sit down with mediators as strike hits third day
The union representing employees who refuel the planes at two Montreal airports met with mediators Thursday as their strike dragged into its third day.
Union representatives sat down with mediators at 10 a.m., according to a spokesman for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Swissport Canada said it will have a session with mediators Friday afternoon at the federal officials’ request.
A face-to-face between the two parties is not likely until “further down in the process,” Swissport said, and indicated the strike will “definitely not” end before the weekend.
