Mrs. Isabelle Ann Deringer passed away at the Riverview Care Centre on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the age of 85 years. Isabelle was born on June 28, 1931 in Medicine Hat to Rudolph and Ida Schlenker. She married, Wendel J. Deringer in Medicine Hat on November 22, 1952. Isabelle worked as a bank teller for 30 years while raising her family. She believed that anything worth doing was to do it right. Isabelle honoured her father and mother and always put her children first. She took an active role in raising her granddaughter, Jenna and loved to bake and cook for her family. Isabelle’s greatest achievement was being a mother and grandmother. She loved animals but her favorite was her Shih Tzu dog, Mickey. Isabelle’s memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of her children, Keith (Brenda) Deringer of Camrose and Debra Deringer (Tim Scory) of Medicine Hat; granddaughters, Kara and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sydney. She was predeceased by her parents, Rudolph & Ida Schlenker; husband, Wendel Deringer and brother, Aevult (Eileen) Schlenker. The funeral service will be celebrated at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
