How do we tell the world about the vivacious gem that we have all lost? Jacquelyn Ann Penner (nee Schelske) passed away April 2, 2017 and we’re gonna’ miss her bigtime and don’t know how we’ll manage without her. Jacquelyn was with Medicine Hat College for 25 years, beginning as an instructor at the Brooks campus, later in Medicine Hat becoming Dean of Business in 2004. Growing the business program, building relationships in the community and supporting the creation of the Entrepreneurial Development Centre (EDC) are among her many accomplishments. She has also served as the chair of the Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce, director of the Economic Development Alliance of Southeast Alberta, chair of the Community Futures Board plus board member of the Medalta Society and member of the Rotary Club. Jacquelyn was recognized for her accomplishments and contributions to the community, receiving the Women in Business 2013 Inspire Award and was named one of the 50 Most Influential People 2013 by Alberta Venture magazine. Jacquelyn was predeceased by her parents, Molly (nee Elliott) and Ephraim Schelske of Bassano.
